1.
Dictionaries and reference websites (these are all good but the best is the first,

on the Apple iTunes or Android platforms. It costs $18 to $25 depending on thbuy but worth ii.
2. Thai
lessons websites.
These are
god but have advantages and disadvantages.
These are also
accessible through ITunes podcasts and You Tube. Quite a lot of lessons are
free but others can be purchased.

12. ITunes
Search the podcast and ITunes Apps lists under Thai
language. The Click Thai Dictionary App is expensive but excellent and
worthwhile buying. It is very
comprehensive and will pronounce most Thai words and has clear tone markers.
Free or very cheap apps that are worth having are Linguapal Thai, Phasa Thai
and Speak Thai. Check out http://learn-thai-podcast.com and ThaiPod101.com -
Learn Thai with Free Podcasts in the podcast section.
There are also some Thai language audiobooks
on ITunes.
12. Audible.com
I regularly purchase
audiobooks from this site which is the largest and owned by Amazon Books. It
has a reasonable of Thai language audio books.
A must buy is Pimsleur’s Thai. It
has 30 half hour lessons to be completed one a day and is the best Thai
language course I have come across apart from the face to face course I did at
Chiang Mai University. It also has a
reading and writing Thai section. At
about $2 a day it is great value. The
chapter on how the Pimsleur system works is free.
After you buy a book
on Audible you can access it forever, the books also download to ITunes and can
be accessed also by the Audible ITunes or Android Apps.
13. YouTube
There are hundreds of
Thai language videos on YouTube which are of varying video and content
quality. There are some excellent ones
however. In order to store subscriptions and playlists you need to logon. It is free, just follow the prompts.
The six best in my
view are as follows. All have 20 or more
Thai language lessons.
1. Khru Mod, Learn Thai with Mod

the best teachers and communicators.

dry sense of humour. Has improved markedly

good communicator.

6. Thai Language Hut
Website: www.learnthailanguage.org
Facebook site: www.facebook.com/pages/Thai-Language-Hut
YouTube: www.youtube.com/user/thailanguagehut
Comments: Great website but video presenters a
little wooden , lack personality and
not as easy on the eyes as Mod and Wee.
Facebook
Nearly all of the above sites have Facebook sites
and will accept “friend” or “like” (in the case of a group or business) requests.
You will then get news of new postings.
Again, super handy and saves lots of research. Thanks Joe!
